Leyland Atlantean 1162 in preservation.
1162 Was in use by the M.P.T.E for 12 years until 1983 when it was sold to the ISLE OF MAN Transport and was used in service until 1993 .
2 Enthusiasts then acquired it for preservation where it was in storage for 5 years until they decided to give it to Merseyside preservationists for free
1162 Was then acquired by a enthusiast / bus driver who had it for 2 years and stored at Frekelton until he sold it to ( ME) Mike in October 2000 and is now undergoing restoration at the Merseyside Transport Trust's Base at Burscough
1162 will be painted back into the PTE's second livery of Verona & cream and will hopefully be completed by june of 2010
